Prohibited Items & Posting Rules

These rules are part of our Terms of Service. Listings that violate them will be removed, and accounts that post them may be suspended or terminated without notice. Where an item is illegal, we may also report it to law enforcement. By posting a listing, you confirm the item is legal to sell, you have the right to sell it, and your listing is accurate.

Prohibited items

• Weapons: firearms, ammunition, explosives, firearm parts and accessories, stun guns, switchblades, and other regulated weapons.
• Drugs and substances: illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, prescription medications, controlled substances, and supplements making unlawful claims.
• Alcohol, tobacco, and vapes: any alcoholic beverages, tobacco, nicotine, or vaping products.
• Stolen or illegally obtained goods, including items with removed or altered serial numbers.
• Counterfeit or replica items: fakes, knock-offs, unauthorized copies, or items that infringe trademarks or copyrights (including pirated media and software).
• Recalled or unsafe items: products subject to a CPSC or manufacturer recall, expired car seats or helmets, and expired food, medicine, or cosmetics.
• Live animals and animal parts from protected species.
• Adult content and services: pornography, sexual services, and sexually explicit material.
• Hazardous materials: fireworks, toxic chemicals, asbestos-containing products, and radioactive materials.
• Government and official items: IDs, passports, visas, immigration documents, government badges or uniforms, license plates, and official forms.
• Financial instruments and data: currency, gift cards sold above face value, stocks, cryptocurrency, loan or investment offers, bank account details, and personal data of others.
• Human remains or body parts, blood, and bodily fluids.
• Lottery tickets, raffles, and gambling services.
• Multi-level marketing, pyramid schemes, "get rich quick" offers, and job postings requiring upfront payment.
• Services that are regulated or licensed (medical, legal, immigration, financial advice) unless you hold the required license and say so in the listing.
• Anything else that is illegal to sell under U.S. federal law or the law of the state where the item is listed.

Posting rules

• List only items you actually have and intend to sell; no bait-and-switch or placeholder listings.
• Use real photos of the actual item where possible, and describe defects honestly.
• Post in the correct category and the city/state where the item is actually located.
• No duplicate listings of the same item.
• No listings whose primary purpose is to advertise an off-site business, website, or event without anything genuinely for sale.
• Housing and roommate listings must comply with the federal Fair Housing Act and state equivalents — no discriminatory preferences based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, or disability.
• Keep prices genuine — the listed price should reflect what you are actually asking.

Enforcement and appeals

We may remove any listing or suspend any account at our sole discretion. If you believe your listing was removed in error, reach out via the contact page. To report a listing that violates these rules, use the report button on the listing itself.
